Environmental certifications of our wood composite
Silvadec has an eco–responsible policy and satisfies strict environmental standards. We also comply with several standards warranting our ecological commitment. This section provides links to official documents proving our certifications, labels and environmental commitments.
The ISO 14001 approach
In March 2014, the Silvadec company became the 1st French wood composite manufacturer to be certified according to the ISO 14001 international standard.
Therefore is distinguished by a strong commitment to respecting the environment through setting up an environmental management system based on respecting French regulatory requirements: the Silvadec company aims to reduce its environnemental impacts through a continuous improvement approach.
The PEFC commitment
The SILVADEC company is committed to a responsible sustainable forest management approach, and has been PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified since 2011.
It chooses clean and local production and is proud that 100% of its wood flour suppliers are French and committed to a PEFC approach.
Low emissions of volatile organic compounds
Our Silvadec wood composite products respect the environment and the health of the final user, and in particular have very low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions. This has been proven through the award of an A+ “Emissions in indoor air” class.
ADEME support
The SILVADEC company has been supported by ADEME (Agency of the Environment and Energy Control) ever since its early days in 2001.
Firstly for its innovative wood chip and sawdust recycling process for the fabrication of non-rotting wood composite products resistant to UV, for outdoors use.
And secondly for having set up a wood composite waste recycling process on its production site.
And finally in 2016, in the framework of its ORPLAST (PLASTics Recycling Objective) system aimed at supporting the integration of recycled plastics into industrial production, with a logic of a circular economy and preservation of resources.
2017 environmental policy
Right from its beginnings, the Silvadec company benefited from the support of ADEME (Agency of the Environment and Energy Control).
Silvadec confirms its commitment to respecting environmental regulations and achieving continuous improvement over its environmental practices and performances, with its environmental management system.
Sustainable development
The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) is an organisation responsible for promoting sustainable development in the construction sector. It assesses the environmental qualities of products used in building construction.
In 2017, Silvadec obtained the highest grade ever awarded to a composite timber manufacturer by the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC).
